Computing

The computing overview has been developed and adapted using the Rising Stars Switched On Computing for Primary Schools scheme of work for Year 1 to Year 6, which has fully mapped out the objectives of the National Curriculum for computing and allows for clear progression in computing. Modules have been adapted to the interests and needs of the pupils in our school. It has also been designed to re-cover important skills that were missed by each year group last year as well as covering the new skills that they need to learn. 

Each year group has six computing topics which cover the strands of computer science, information technology and digital literacy. These topics are designed to build and consolidate on previous learning as well as introducing new concepts and skills. Within each topic pupils are also introduced to a range of different technologies and programs that they can use to enhance and develop their computing skills.
