Year 5 & 6 Football competition:

 

The children played excellently throughout the competition and displayed tremendous teamwork. We won 2 group games and drawn 1 and made it through to the Semi final. After drawing 0-0 in normal time we then went into extra time. With the game being played at a fast speed and chances for either teams, the game went to penalties.....

 

After each team having their first penalty saved, we manged to score our second penalty. The opposition had their 2nd penalty saved and we were through to the final. Jawaad made two fantastic penalty saves to send us through to the final.

 

The final game of the competition was a very close game with chances few and far between. Amir showed great determination to make tackles in his position with Samson being confident to receive the ball and to try and go past his opposing player. 

 

With the game going into extra time we conceded a goal with 30 seconds remaining. The goal didn't knock our confidence as we tried our best to get the ball forward with Aryan making intelligent runs and showing good communication to receive the ball. Unfortunately the game finished 1-0 and we came runners up. The children should be very proud of their performances and showed great sportsmanship throughout which was commented  on by School games organiser;
