Car-free days on Dixon Road & Camelot Way - Active Wellbeing events - March 15th and 16th 2022

We're really excited to let you know about a couple of events we are organising with The Active Wellbeing Society which we hope you will all support. The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society and cooperative, working in Birmingham to develop healthy, happy communities living active and connected lives. You can find out more about them on their website: https://theaws.co.uk

As a means of encouraging more children and families to get fit and healthy and to walk to school or find alternative transport, the Active Wellbeing Society are working with us to organise a couple of car-free days between 2.00pm and 4.00pm on Dixon Road on Tuesday 15th March and on Camelot Way on Wednesday 16th March.

On these days, the roads will be closed for traffic and will be open for children and families to take part in activities run by Active Wellbeing and by staff from school. No cars will be allowed to travel or park along the roads on these days between 2.00pm and 4.00pm in the afternoon. Parents who normally drive to school to collect children will be asked either to leave their cars at home or park away from school and walk.

Children from school will be able to visit the activities between 2.00pm and 2.50pm. After school from 3.00pm, parents and children and other members of the community will be able to take part in the activities and hopefully sign up to join the Active Wellbeing Society and register for a free Active Wellbeing Card in order to take part in other activities in the local community.

Keeping children and families safe on the streets around our school is very important to us so we hope you will support us by not driving your car on these roads on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th March.

If you'd like to be involved and help us on the day we are looking for people who can act as stewards and keep everyone safe. Please feel free to contact the office and leave your name if you're willing to volunteer.

We look forward to seeing you at the events next week.

Mr Beale
