KS1 Reading Practice Books

Dear Parents,

 

Your child will be bringing their Reading Practice book home every Wednesday, which is a decodable book that supports the acquisition of early reading. This week your child is bringing home their book on Friday. Your child will have read this book at school and will need to practise reading it again to build their fluency. Please do take time out to listen to your child read.

 

Please ensure you fill in your child’s green Reading Record to show they have read the book at home. Class teachers regularly check this to see who has been reading at home.

 

The reading practice book will need to be sent back to school each Monday. Any book which is lost or damaged will incur a charge as we will have to replace it. Therefore, it is important that books are looked after.

 

In addition to this book, your child will bring a book from the school library to share with you.
