Head's Welcome

Welcome to Regents Park Community Primary School!

It is a privilege to welcome you to Regents Park Community Primary School. As the new Headteacher, I am proud to lead our school into an exciting new chapter, building on its strong foundations while raising expectations even further. My vision is clear: every child at Regents Park will flourish academically, socially, and personally so that they leave us exceptionally well-prepared for secondary school and for life beyond.

Our school has a proud history. Founded in 1975, following the closure of Dixon Road School, Regents Park has been at the heart of Small Heath for nearly fifty years. Today, we are a two-form entry primary school with a thriving Nursery, serving a diverse and vibrant community. Regents Park is a school where every child is valued, challenged, and supported to achieve their very best, regardless of background or starting point.

We set the highest expectations in all areas: learning, behaviour, attendance, and personal development. Our curriculum is broad, ambitious, and knowledge-rich, carefully sequenced to ensure pupils build secure knowledge over time. Strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics are complemented by rich opportunities in the arts, humanities, sciences, sport, and technology. Assessment is used thoughtfully to support learning, helping teachers to identify gaps, stretch the most able, and ensure success for pupils with SEND and those who are disadvantaged.

Inclusion is at the heart of our mission. We are relentless in ensuring equity of opportunity so that no child is left behind. Safeguarding and wellbeing are non-negotiables, and we take pride in developing pupils’ confidence, resilience, and character. We explicitly promote British values and pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development, preparing them to thrive as respectful, responsible, and active citizens of Birmingham, modern Britain, and the wider world.

This is a time of ambition and renewal for Regents Park. By working in close partnership with parents, carers, governors, and the wider community, we will ensure that every child not only believes in themselves but leaves us knowing that anything is possible.

With best wishes,
