Our Safeguarding Commitment
At Regents Park Community Primary School, safeguarding is our top priority. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, and we expect everyone in our school community to share this commitment.
All staff, volunteers, governors, and visitors follow our safeguarding procedures and are subject to the appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS clearance and references, where required.
We also follow safer recruitment practices to ensure that anyone joining our school is suitable to work with children. This includes carrying out pre-employment checks in line with statutory guidance.
Safer Recruitment
All posts at our school are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. This means that when applying for certain jobs or activities, some spent convictions and cautions are considered “protected.” These do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.
Further information about the filtering of offences can be found in the DBS Filtering Guide.
Our Policy
We encourage parents, carers, and visitors to familiarise themselves with our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, which sets out our approach to keeping children safe and what to do if you have a concern.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and together we work to ensure that Regents Park is a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive.
