Believe in Yourself - Anything is Possible!
Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents/ Carers,
School will be OPEN as normal tomorrow, Tuesday 1st July 2025.
There is a temporary fix in place for tomorrow so that all children will have access to water across school. More work on the problem will be completed tomorrow.
If there are any further issues we will let you know.
Although it is not likely to be as hot tomorrow as it has been today, it will still be very warm. So, for Tuesday only, we will allow children to come in non-uniform and to wear light, loose-fitting clothing (not party clothes).
Children should wear sunscreen and are advised to wear hats/ caps. Children can bring sunglasses and handheld fans but, please be advised, they will be resposnible for looking after items that they bring into school - school will not be responsible for any breakages.
Thank you again for your understanding about the emergency closure today.
Many thanks
Mr Beale
Dear Parents/ Carers,
I am very sorry that I have had to make the decision to close school today to all pupils. Unfortuantely, we have been having a problem with our water supply and in some parts of the school (EYFS/ KS2) we have no water.
This has been causing a problem which is still not solved and is complicated today by the extreme heat that has been forecast.
In order to avoid any danger of children suffering with heat exhaustion due to the temperatures and a lack of water, I have made the decision to close school to all children today.
We hope to reopen tomorrow as normal. Please look out for text messages and updates on the school website.
Thank you for your understanding,
Mr Beale
Dear Parents/ Carers,
This Friday 6th June, the majority of our pupils, families and staff will be celebrating Eid-al-Adha and will be absent from school.
Normally, school would remain open for pupils and staff not celebrating Eid; however, on this occasion, all the local mosques seem to be agreed that Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated together on the same day. As such we will have very few staff available, even to support the small number of pupils that would be likely to be in school on that day. As well as low numbers of teaching staff, we will only have one member of kitchen staff available on Friday so would not be able to provide cooked dinners on this day.
In light of this, I have spoken to the School Governing Board and it has been agreed that school will be CLOSED on Friday 6th June for ALL pupils.
Children who are not celebrating Eid will be provided with remote learning to complete at home.
School will REOPEN as normal to ALL pupils on Monday 9th June at 8.40am.
Apologies for the late notice about this closure and thank you for your understanding.
Yours faithfully,
Mr Beale
Headteacher
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Chair of Governors Announcement – Appointment of new Headteacher
I am pleased to be able to inform you that the Governing Board has completed the recruitment process to appoint a new Headteacher at Regents Park for September 2025. The process was led by a panel of governors assisted by a former Headteacher of a local Birmingham school and a representative of the Birmingham Education Partnership (BEP).
As a result of this process, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mrs S. Zamir as the new Headteacher at Regents Park Community Primary School. Mrs Zamir will be joining us in September 2025 and we are all looking forward to welcoming her to our school community.
Mrs Zamir brings with her a huge wealth of knowledge, skills and expertise including seven years as a senior school leader in other local primary schools. We found Mrs Zamir to be an extremely positive, committed, child-focused professional, with strong aspirations and strategic vision for the future of our school. We are certain that she will continue to take Regents Park on from strength to strength and continue the good work laid down by Mr Beale and the school staff over the last 11 years.
During this half term, we will organise for Mrs Zamir to visit Regents Park to meet pupils and parents and I’m sure many of you will want to have the opportunity to welcome her into our school. We are planning for Mrs Zamir to meet children during their celebration assemblies on Monday 9th and Wednesday 11th June and we would like to invite parents to meet Mrs Zamir during a coffee morning in school on Wednesday 2nd July, as well as during our Parent’s Afternoon after school on Wednesday 9th July. More information about this will be sent out at a later date.
In the meantime, we look forward to continuing to support Mr Beale in his final months as Headteacher of Regents Park and I am sure you will do too.
Yours faithfully
Mr P Hynan
Chair of Governors
